This is AMAZING!

I love to design, don’t you?!

Do you ever get a creative block?

I DO, all the time… It’s kind of frustrating at times.  When I just allow myself to have fun and not worry about the end result, the creative juices just flow.

What helps you break through a creative block? I’d love to hear!

Here’s my result of just letting it take shape and enjoying my craft time… I made this “AMAZING” card!

I hope you like it and it inspires you to create. Please do, its rewarding, relaxing and fun~!

TGIF Challenges!

I took the Challenge!

I needed some fun after having a rough combo of 9 months Pregnancy, Laryngitis, & The worst Sinus infection.  So I followed Ashley Van Camp’s suggestion to participate in the TGIF challenge #109. So glad I did. #TGIFC109

Part of the Challenge was to head over to Rochelle Blok’s blog, she’s one of the current Artisan’s for Stampin’ Up!, kind of a big deal! Little did I know that I had copied and admired about half of her projects!  So I didn’t need to search long for a million projects I wanted to Copy and Change this time.

I choose this card…

Watercolor ButterFly FAV

Gorgeous huh?!

She glued each of those beautiful butterfly pieces onto the black butterfly!  Wow, I have a whole new respect for her!

My project looks pretty close to hers.

Boom, there it is! I had a blast making this card!

  • I used watercolor paper, wet the paper first and added Lemon Lime Twist to the center and Melon Mambo to the outside. I glued on the Die cut rose from  the Rose Garden Thinlits. The two leaves are from the Stylish Stems Framelits. I stamped a flower from Petite Petals and punched it out. The Thank you phrase was stamped with Thoughtful Banners in Melon Mambo. To embellish, I used a Melon Mambo Enamel Dot, the Metallic Sequins, old Doilies (couldn’t find the new ones) and Basic Black Baker’s Twine.

  • Watercoloring the rose was by far my favorite part!  It was best to start with the lighter color in the center and add the vibrant/bolder color on the outside and blend really well.  You can use your Heat Tool on level 1 to dry it faster. I used Tombo glue to adhere it and Dimensionals on back.

  • The Black Baker’s Twine was added on top of the Doily and layered three times and tied in back.  I made a cute bow and adhered it on the rose with a glue dot.  The sequins and flower were put on with glue dots.  The  “Thank You” saying was placed with 1-half Dimensional.

Thank You for visiting! A big Thanks to Rochelle and TGIF for challenging me and allowing me to just play!

I just turned 34!

Happy Birthday to ME!

It’s TRUE, I am a year older and hopefully wiser!  My birthday was a blast except for getting the stomach flu.  The highlight of my birthday came from my husband. He surprised me with a brand new video set-up to film my videos!!! When I walked into my craft room I was like a giddy little girl, I even let out a squeal!  LOL!  Do you want to see some of my videos? Stayed tuned and I will post those soon! I want to post a mini movie/tutorial once a month on Mondays. “Mini Movie Monday”... that’s what I will call it, how do you like it?!

Another HUGE birthday highlight was spending the day with The Queens, yes we are called the Queens!  Who are we?  I promised we don’t dress up in gowns and crowns (although that would be awesome!)  We are a large group of Demonstrators who get together for fun, learning, new ideas, friendships and inspiration. We make projects, see Demonstrations, and hear from experienced Demos on how to improve our business and art skills. I am new to the group, it’s odd how I feel like I’ve always been a part of the group! You know the feeling of when you return from an awesome trip to Disneyland you instantly want to watch every Disney movie known to man! That’s how I feel after these events, I want to make every project I can!  I love being pumped to stamp and motivated to do better.

Well long story short… I was asked to Demonstrate at this event… I was so nervous.  There was so many wonderful stampers listening to me! They gave me one stamp set (Frosted Medallions), and some accessories to make 10-14 projects and show everyone my ideas.  I wore a microphone, which I am sure I yelled into, hey what do you expect, I was stoked… I think they could hear that!  They put me up on the big screen, so glad I did my hair that day! I even did a little dance for everyone! While it was scary, I was so flattered to Demonstrate.

I featured a spinner card and a shaker card.  If you’ve never made or received one of these cards, you HAVE GOT to do it.  It’s hilarious and so much fun!

Do you want to see my projects?  I will show you!

THE END! Oh my!

The adventure of a life time!

Photo taken by Carrie Fox, www.carrielashellephotography.

When you think of adventure… do you think of pirates traveling the troubled sea, Indiana Jones discovering a lost treasure, or the thrill of an explorer visiting a new land for the first time?  I know my mind wanders to all sorts of places when I think of adventures.  I am a bit of a dreamer!!!  I love ADVENTURE!  I have been lucky to have one of the greatest adventures of all… This adventure is worth it’s weight in gold, it can’t be replaced and it has the potential to last forever! What’s the adventure?  Good question, I will let you in on a secret, one of my prized adventures is my family!  Oh yes, I cherish them!  They make me smile daily!  They give me purpose. I mean how cool is it that we get to explore this life full of adventures together.  I find adventure when me and my little boy explore what happens when you the point the hose at your face or each other!  When Conner first stood on his feet, felt the softness of the sand, or the trill of splashing in water, it was extraordinary to witness his joy! My husband and I find adventure when we strap our helmets to race on our bikes, when we go swimming at the beach, or we tease each other. What an adventure!

DSC_9749Dan has been in my life for 6 years now and we just celebrated our 5th year Anniversary! I treasure every moment I have with him. It’s not always easy but we love each other. I know I can depend on him. We have teamed up to be ready for any trial. We always find time to laugh and be together!  In some ways, I am facing some of my hardest trials but I get to do it with someone I love, and he supports me completely!  Life couldn’t be better!DSC_9872

I had a blast making my hubby these cards for our Anniversary!!!  I made two because I was so in the zone and really wanted to make one he loved!  Dan keeps all of my cards and I hope to Scrap them into one big LOVE BOOK someday!  Easy way to save love notes!

What’s your idea of Adventure?  Please share it with us!
