My hubby is always sporting a great wallet!

I first saw a wallet card on Pinterest by Gosia Mackinnon forever ago.

I finally made it! It was so fun, I also made one for my dad with different colors!

I wish I could show you these in person, they’re amazing to open.

Layout Challenge

I tried a new layout as part of the TGIF challenge #TGIFC111

#TGIFC111 Sketch Challenge

My Card…

Water mark Lion- FAV 6:10:17

What can I say… I have baby on the brain as I patiently (and not so patiently) await my babies arrival.

She’s been psyching me out! Like all good things, it’s worth the wait!

Watermark Lion- CLOSE

I have officially used my NEW product from the 2017 Annual Catalog!  Man, that feels good!

This card uses the “A Little Wild” set… one I had my eye from the first glance at the catalog!

Being that I have small kids around, I  love anything I can stamp with my son.

He’s already stamped this lion with me! Such a good helper!

Watermark Lion- TGIF

How to make: Cut Very Vanilla as your card base. Cut the Bundle of Love  DSP at 1-1/4″ by 4″ for lower layer and 2″ by 4″ for the top layer (arrows) and glue it on. Basic Black strip is 1″ by 5″ and emboss your saying (from Beautiful You set) with Craft white ink and white emboss powder. Add dimensionals to the black piece if you want a pop! Cut the circle with Stitched Shapes die and Big Shot with Flirty Flamingo.  Now stamp your lion in permanent Archival Black ink and use the blender pens (I liked it on Very Vanilla).  Use these colors to fill him in! 1) Peekaboo Peach & Daffodil Delight (mixed) for the lion’s body, head and tail. 2) Soft Suede with Daffodil Delight for the Hair. 3) Flirty Flamingo for nose and checks. Cut him out with dies and prop-up with dimensionals. I added the mini sequins trim with glue dots. Pretty simple card!  I love how easy this card is to make… if you like to color!

Thanks for the visit!

I just love COLOR!

I did a color challenge using:

Bermuda Bay, Peekaboo Peach and Basic Black

I love these colors together! What do you think?!

Water Mark Tulips- Color Challenge 6:17

I made several cards & I was about to enter this card, guess I missed the deadline, oops!

I used a lot of my NEW product from the Stampin’ Up! Catalog that just launched.

Stamp Sets: Oh So Eclectic, Lots of Love, & Dare to Dream (for the saying)

Designer Series Paper (DSP)– Pop of Pink (retired)

This saying is inspired by my children and hubby… they are my greatest adventures!  What’s yours?!

How to make: I cut out ovals with the Layering Ovals dies and Big Shot machine. Use a bigger oval for the DSP, grab a scrap piece of Bermuda Bay and cut a smaller oval and stamp your saying on a scrap of white.  I added dimensionals to the DSP to prop up. I stamped the flowers in Peekaboo Peach, fussy cut 3 of them and used the Eclectic Layers die for flower, black outlined flower, 2- black branches, and 2- bermuda bay branches (one is fussy cut, since it only adds an impression). Layer on all pieces starting with the largest flower (dimensionals) and work outward.

Ready to see my other creations?! Great!

This was made with Tranquil Tulips (Host Set) and Sunshine Sayings.

Thanks Tulip- Bokeh FAV

I love the new Iridescent Sequins!

The Designer Series Paper is from Pick a Pattern

How to make: Cut your DSP at 2-1/16″ by 5-1/2″ and glue to Bermuda Bay card base. Cut Peekaboo Peach at 2-9/16″ by 4″, add 1/4- doily and dimensionals. Cut White at 2-1/4″ by 3-1/2″, stamp on 2-stems and a leaf with Lemon Lime Twist (stamped off first). On a scrap of white stamp your 2- Tulips with Peekaboo Peach. This is a 2-step stamp and I stamped the front of the tulip last. To get a darker peach line-up and stamp twice, fussy cut and pop up the larger tulip with a dimensional. Emboss your saying with Whisper White Craft ink and heat emboss with white powder. Use the Triple Banner Punch for tag edges. Add sequins and you are done!

I used the NEW Gold Mini Sequins Trim and The Pinewood Planks Emboss Folder.

The mini flowers come from Oh So Eclectic

THANKS is from This Little Piggy stamp set

This Little Piggy is such a cute stamp set!

I used the Iridescent Sequins again!  It’s a new love of mine!

That’s a wrap!

Please challenge yourself with something new every once in a while.  It can be so fun!

Some of my Favorite Oldies!

It’s Retiring time!

I promised to showcase some of my FAV projects using the retiring product.

This beautiful card is CASED (copied and changed) from a card seen on Pinterest by dreamingaboutrubberstamps.com.

The Stamp Sets are Flower Patch & Helping Me Grow. I used Melon Mambo and the NEW in-color Fresh Fig for the flower, and Wild Wasabi for the leaves.

This is called the Ghosting Technique, I think of it like a shadow effect.  First stamp in Craft Whisper White and let it dry before you stamp the Melon Mambo.  Last, use the enamel dots in the center of each flower. It’s fun!

 Circus Tent- both colors

Circus Tent- Berry:Lemon

Circus Tent- Pacific Point

Made by helenedenbreejen.nl in the Pacific Point and Real Red.

I had to make a girl version with the NEW in-colors, Berry Burst & Lemon-Lime Twist. I used Early Espresso for the Birthday greeting.

Stamp Sets: Carousel Birthday & Tin of Tags (retired)- stars.

You will want the Stitched Shapes Dies with the BIG SHOT and the Triple Banner Punch that makes the arrow tags.

Randomly stamp the stars (one by one) in the background, this part is fun! I used a Dimensional behind the Circus Tent circle. Done!

Love You- Navy

Love you- Wisteria

CASED from a card made by Brandi Barnard’s husband! I love the layout.

I used the new Delightful Daisy & Wood Textures paper seen in the NEW catalog (can be ordered on June 1st, so soon!).

I cut the card at 4-1/4″ (vertically cut 1 paper to make 2). Scored at 5-1/5″ and cut off 2″ from the 11″ (cut at 9″ mark).

Daffodil Delight CS (card stock) is cut at 2-3/4″ by 3-3/4″. White CS is cut at 2-1/2 by 3-1/2.

Colors used: Night of Navy or Wisteria Wonder, plus Daffodil Delight on both.

Punch out the YOU heart with the Sweetheart Punch.

My design using Over the Rainbow and current Beautiful You Stamp Sets.

I embossed the background using the Lucky Stars Emboss Folder & the Big Shot.

I picked Soft Sky or Sahara Sand for the card base.

Ink colors: Daffodil Delight (stamp twice), Soft Sky (stamped off), Flirty Flamingo & Staz-on Black ink.

To stamp the Vellum, use Staz-on. Beware of sliding while stamping, also make sure it has time to dry!

I simply stapled the vellum on, no need for adhesive.

Botanical- FAV

This one has got to be my favorite! Both to make and look at!

CASED from Stempelwiese (past Artisan).

Card Base is Crumb Cake, the flower is Melon Mambo, and Wild Wasabi for the leaf.

Stamp Set: Timeless Texture (stamped off with Crumb Cake) & Labeler Alphabet.

You will need the Botanical Builder Dies (currently on SALE)! & the Big Shot.

The gold splatters are done with Gold Wink of Stella (retiring).

To stamp the saying of your choice, simply stamp one letter at a time to get this look.

What are the NEW in-colors?

Every year Stampin’ Up! comes out with 5 NEW fresh, trendy, & vibrant colors, they stay for 2 years.

It’s so exciting, just like Christmas!

I am a kid at heart, aren’t I?!

I often gasp at the sight of the new colors & usually my mind wanders to how I can use them to create!

I LOVE COLOR, life is full of inspiring colors!

Do you want to see some more samples of the 3 out of 5 new colors I’ve been using?!

Here it goes… (I sound like my 3 year old boy as he lets his toy train drop down a steep slide)!

Tranquil Tide is the deep green found in the Peacock like patterned Designer series paper!

This card uses Fresh Fig as the paper and stamped flowers. Gorgeous color! So Regal, you’ll love it!

The Splashes of Gold are done with Embossing Powder.  No new colors here, but the Eastern Palace Stamp Set is featured.

These leaves are featuring Lemon Lime Twist! It’s such a “WOW” color isn’t it?!

I used the Fresh Fig tassel from the bundled suite and a splash of Lemon Lime Twist!

I used Lemon Lime Twist to water color inside the Flower.  It’s a perfect party and accent color.

I just love it! Beware, I will use this color often!!

I used my Aqua Painters to water color these cool flowers.  I blended the colors together.  This uses all 3 in-colors, just stunning!

Post-surgery update!

Time for an UPDATE!

I am doing amazing after my Lower Back, Spinal Fusion.

To fill you all in, I had emergency surgery at 12 weeks pregnant.

Since that time, we’ve found out our baby’s GENDER!

Want to know?!

Here’s how we revealed it!

A gorgeous layered cake, what’s inside?

The cake was divine. Thanks Abbey, our masterful baker!

Each guest put their bet on the gender board,

so the excitement in the room thickened as we cut the cake!

Can you spot the color of the cake yet?!

Keep looking!

See how beautiful this cake is!

We took a family photo to remember this moment.

(I didn’t plan wearing pink and my hubby wearing blue but odd enough that was our guesses!)

We wanted to have a boy and a girl, so we are overjoyed!!!

I had a strong feeling this baby was a girl!  I have had way more nausea, the babies sitting higher in my belly and

I’ve had completely different cravings. Instead of meat, I want oranges!

Being a card designer, I made a card about this cute baby jumping into our lives.

I will use it for a baby shower I am throwing with a good friend! You may get one in the mail!

Our baby girl is due mid-June (be prepared for minimal blogging in June!).

Her name will be SARELL– after Sara!

It’s the name of my dear grandmother and my middle name!

So now you’ve been on our exciting journey of discovering our baby girl’s gender! It’s been a dream, just like my card implies!

If you are still reading, I’d like to share my recent surgery story. I’ve been asked to share updates. I will not disappoint!

As you may know, I’ve struggled with some scary symptoms in my legs, hips and back for sometime. My legs and feet would go numb, tingle, and grow weak. My hips hurt and my spine would curve in odd ways. My back had become stiff and spasmed often. My legs were my most persistent problem. I often could barely move them & I’d find myself confined to bed consistently. One night, I ran from bed at the sweet sound of my son knocking on our door, as I ran, my legs just stopped moving mid-air and I collapsed to the floor.  Embarrassing! This is when I decided it was time to get serious.  No more kindly suggesting I had a problem with my back and legs, I needed to be seen by the right doctors. Some suggested I could have a serious progressive disease, SCARY!  In fact, the first test done was a MRI of my brain for Multiple Sclerosis.  This process started about a year before we got pregnant.  It took so long to get into a neurologist that I was PREGGERS and they didn’t want to do the MRI of my spine. “WHY COULDN’T A DR. HAVE DONE THIS BEFORE?!” I admittedly screamed in my head often!

“Hope is on the horizon!”

Haha… I laugh at the process now!  In the end, it all worked out, but at the time, it tested my patience!  I faithfully did PT for 3 1/2 weeks and the sciatica pain only worsened… when I say worsened, I mean it was unbearable, the worst pain I have ever felt. I pride myself in my excellent pain tolerance and I’ve had several injuries and health struggles but this…. this was a whole new MONSTER of pain! It burned, it felt like my joints and muscles were being torn from the bone. I could not sit, stand, lay or walk for long.  I had to consistently change positions… what did this mean?! The pregnant lady was getting nearly zero sleep and was starting to go crazy!  I have run half marathons and raced my guts out (not literally, but close)!  This was like running at full sprint for a marathon.  I was exhausted and it burned!  Every doctor told me to go to the ER, so what did I do? I went to the ER… long story short, I got an MRI, they found a MONSTER herniated disc on my L4-L5 spine.  Yep, it all makes sense!  They operated the next day because my nerve was under immense stress from the herniation.  The hope was to avoid permanent nerve damage.  While in surgery, they discovered it was even worse!  My ligaments were torn from my vertebrae in one spot, this meant my bone was sliding around and I imagine it pinched on that nerve, who knows  how long!  CRAZY!  So no MS, no more pain and I am healing beautifullyI feel so blessed.  My foot and leg are almost back to full functioning and the feeling is almost normal.  MIRACLES!  I now see how being patient and thinking positive can help any situation. It didn’t make it go by faster, but it’s nice to know there was an end.  I’m not sure what trials you face, but please keep going. Don’t give up!  I believe it always gets better.  There will be bits of heaven to help you out and hope is on the horizon. It’s been over 10 years of this trial for me, I am so happy to see it ending! Please share your stories and thoughts on my Facebook site, Color Me Crazy, https://www.facebook.com/cmcstamps/ I sure appreciate you all and thanks for visiting!
