Layout Challenge

Hello!

I tried a new layout as part of the TGIF challenge #TGIFC111

VISIT TGIF HERE!

#TGIFC111 Sketch Challenge

My Card…

Water mark Lion- FAV 6:10:17

What can I say… I have baby on the brain as I patiently (and not so patiently) await my babies arrival.

She’s been psyching me out! Like all good things, it’s worth the wait!

Watermark Lion- CLOSE

I have officially used my NEW product from the 2017 Annual Catalog!  Man, that feels good!

This card uses the “A Little Wild” set… one I had my eye from the first glance at the catalog!

Being that I have small kids around, I  love anything I can stamp with my son.

He’s already stamped this lion with me! Such a good helper!

Watermark Lion- TGIF

How to make: Cut Very Vanilla as your card base. Cut the Bundle of Love  DSP at 1-1/4″ by 4″ for lower layer and 2″ by 4″ for the top layer (arrows) and glue it on. Basic Black strip is 1″ by 5″ and emboss your saying (from Beautiful You set) with Craft white ink and white emboss powder. Add dimensionals to the black piece if you want a pop! Cut the circle with Stitched Shapes die and Big Shot with Flirty Flamingo.  Now stamp your lion in permanent Archival Black ink and use the blender pens (I liked it on Very Vanilla).  Use these colors to fill him in! 1) Peekaboo Peach & Daffodil Delight (mixed) for the lion’s body, head and tail. 2) Soft Suede with Daffodil Delight for the Hair. 3) Flirty Flamingo for nose and checks. Cut him out with dies and prop-up with dimensionals. I added the mini sequins trim with glue dots. Pretty simple card!  I love how easy this card is to make… if you like to color!

Thanks for the visit!

I just love COLOR!

I did a color challenge using:

Bermuda Bay, Peekaboo Peach and Basic Black

I love these colors together! What do you think?!

I made several cards & I was about to enter this card, guess I missed the deadline, oops!

#TGIFC110

DSC_3533

I used a lot of my NEW product from the Stampin’ Up! Catalog that just launched.

Stamp Sets: Oh So Eclectic, Lots of Love, & Dare to Dream (for the saying)

Designer Series Paper (DSP)– Pop of Pink (retired)

DSC_3522

This saying is inspired by my children and hubby… they are my greatest adventures!  What’s yours?!

DSC_3524

How to make: I cut out ovals with the Layering Ovals dies and Big Shot machine. Use a bigger oval for the DSP, grab a scrap piece of Bermuda Bay and cut a smaller oval and stamp your saying on a scrap of white.  I added dimensionals to the DSP to prop up. I stamped the flowers in Peekaboo Peach, fussy cut 3 of them and used the Eclectic Layers die for flower, black outlined flower, 2- black branches, and 2- bermuda bay branches (one is fussy cut, since it only adds an impression). Layer on all pieces starting with the largest flower (dimensionals) and work outward.

Ready to see my other creations?! Great!

DSC_3538

This was made with Tranquil Tulips (Host Set) and Sunshine Sayings.

Thanks Tulip- Bokeh FAV

I love the new Iridescent Sequins!

DSC_3567

The Designer Series Paper is from Pick a Pattern

How to make: Cut your DSP at 2-1/16″ by 5-1/2″ and glue to Bermuda Bay card base. Cut Peekaboo Peach at 2-9/16″ by 4″, add 1/4- doily and dimensionals. Cut White at 2-1/4″ by 3-1/2″, stamp on 2-stems and a leaf with Lemon Lime Twist (stamped off first). On a scrap of white stamp your 2- Tulips with Peekaboo Peach. This is a 2-step stamp and I stamped the front of the tulip last. To get a darker peach line-up and stamp twice, fussy cut and pop up the larger tulip with a dimensional. Emboss your saying with Whisper White Craft ink and heat emboss with white powder. Use the Triple Banner Punch for tag edges. Add sequins and you are done!

DSC_3541

I used the NEW Gold Mini Sequins Trim and The Pinewood Planks Emboss Folder.

DSC_3576

The mini flowers come from Oh So Eclectic

THANKS is from This Little Piggy stamp set

DSC_3552

This Little Piggy is such a cute stamp set!

DSC_3559

I used the Iridescent Sequins again!  It’s a new love of mine!

DSC_3558

That’s a wrap!

Please challenge yourself with something new every once in a while.  It can be so fun!

TGIF Challenges!

I took the Challenge!

I needed some fun after having a rough combo of 9 months Pregnancy, Laryngitis, & The worst Sinus infection.  So I followed Ashley Van Camp’s suggestion to participate in the TGIF challenge #109. So glad I did. #TGIFC109

17951812_10213034486924712_6491853722112063522_n

Part of the Challenge was to head over to Rochelle Blok’s blog, she’s one of the current Artisan’s for Stampin’ Up!, kind of a big deal! Little did I know that I had copied and admired about half of her projects!  So I didn’t need to search long for a million projects I wanted to Copy and Change this time.

I choose this card…

Watercolor ButterFly FAV

Gorgeous huh?!

She glued each of those beautiful butterfly pieces onto the black butterfly!  Wow, I have a whole new respect for her!

My project looks pretty close to hers.

DSC_3446

Boom, there it is! I had a blast making this card!

  • I used watercolor paper, wet the paper first and added Lemon Lime Twist to the center and Melon Mambo to the outside. I glued on the Die cut rose from  the Rose Garden Thinlits. The two leaves are from the Stylish Stems Framelits. I stamped a flower from Petite Petals and punched it out. The Thank you phrase was stamped with Thoughtful Banners in Melon Mambo. To embellish, I used a Melon Mambo Enamel Dot, the Metallic Sequins, old Doilies (couldn’t find the new ones) and Basic Black Baker’s Twine.

DSC_3451

  • Watercoloring the rose was by far my favorite part!  It was best to start with the lighter color in the center and add the vibrant/bolder color on the outside and blend really well.  You can use your Heat Tool on level 1 to dry it faster. I used Tombo glue to adhere it and Dimensionals on back.

DSC_3452

  • The Black Baker’s Twine was added on top of the Doily and layered three times and tied in back.  I made a cute bow and adhered it on the rose with a glue dot.  The sequins and flower were put on with glue dots.  The  “Thank You” saying was placed with 1-half Dimensional.

DSC_3469

Thank You for visiting! A big Thanks to Rochelle and TGIF for challenging me and allowing me to just play!

Live your Passion!

DSC_2588

What’s your passion?

When you woke up this morning what was your first thought?

Ready to laugh at mine? It may make you want to pee your pants!

  • Being 9 months pregnant, I jolted out of a deep sleep and ran to the bathroom, thinking “hurry don’t pee my pants”.  Hilarious huh? Sadly, this is common for me these days! It’s funny how easy it is to float through a busy day with little thought… but what if there’s more? Do you believe in the power of the mind, like the idea that you can do anything you put your mind to? I sure do! I think that what we think, what we entertain, & what passions we aspire to drive our actions and help us succeed. So while we must survive & especially not pee the bed, what if we added a bit more substance or meaning to our lives. What if you had a clear and defined view of what you really wanted?

DSC_2647

“Do you believe in the power of our minds? You can do anything you put your mind to? I believe that’s true. What we think and entertain & what passions we aspire drive our actions to succeed.”

  • To learn our passions, start by soul searching.  What drives you to live? We’ve heard all kinds of motivational phrases all our lives, “live your dream”, “Live Laugh Love”, “Wish upon a Star” or “Just Do it”. These are great, but first we need to know what our passion is. This will change often just as life changes. What makes you feel alive? Here’s how I better understand my passion. I do this exercise often. Close your eyes, take a second to relax, let your shoulders just sink, clear your mind, and ask yourself what is the most important desire or passion in your life. Once it comes and it sure will… write it down.  It may not make sense at first, take time to understand it.  It may be one huge, central drive or many little steps. It doesn’t matter just write it down and take time to absorb it.

IMG_6551

  • Now here’s the challenge, making your hope and desire into something real.  Let it grow! Having a goal always improves my life. In fact, the only reason I am writing this blog is because I made my goals for the day and chose which was most important to me. It felt important to write this. Think of some simple goals, write them down, think about them often.  This will give your life more direction than simple waking up & running to the bathroom! You CAN do it! There’s no limit.

IMG_6090

  • I want to step outside my comfort zone and be brave today!  I will share one of my most inner passions with you!  It’s not simple or straight forward and I imagine I have more to learn about it, but it feels substantial to me. It is broad, so please be patient with me as I discover and break it down. While I was relaxed and clear this vivid thought came to me… “Add color to the world.” What is silly sands does that mean?!
  • The name I chose for my Stampin’ Up! business is Color Me Crazy. There’s a reason I chose to use the word “Color” in my name. To me, color means depth, vibrancy, fun, meaning, hope, healing, and individuality.  You know that really good book and now movie THE GIVER? I love it! It shows that life and even meaning is lost without color. In the story, color represents what made life worth living, both good and bad. It added diversity and joy. It allowed people and even objects to become independently brilliant.

DSC_2496

  • Back to what drives me, individuality. Yes, we are all like colors that are meant to stand apart but compliment one another. Without all the colors the world would be bland, boring, basic, and even without progression. OH MY, that’s not cool! I assume that to color the world I must know who I am and be true to that. This means I should develop myself, even love who I am, and be willing to show this to the world in small ways, everyday. I can spread inspiration and hope, add depth and fun, vibrance and healing just by being my best self. No doubt I studied how to heal others as a nurse for 8 years and now I teach others how to create and grow confidence by learning to paper craft. But overall, one of my deepest passions is to raise a family, so each child will have confidence in who they are, be themselves and give to the world.

DSC_2650

  • “Make the World a Better Place”, that’s a wonderful song that illustrates my main goal in life.  I want to add to it. Could I make a difference in my own way? YES!  I often think, there’s already so much color in the world, does it need me? YES! There’s only one of each of us, we are our own color. Do you think you make a difference? You do– you add to the world, if you chose to. You are important. I promise this does not need to be profound.  I think it’s just knowing who you are, what drives you and being determined to do a little good each day.  Take time in your life to figure out how to really live and “Just Do it”! You are full of good to share with others. Your thoughts, talents, gifts and passions will color your world and those around you. Are you ready to really LIVE! So am I… I want to add more to this beautiful world of color, no matter how simple it may be!

IMG_6092

  • I hope my thoughts were uplifting and helpful.  I sure feel more clear and more motivated.  Please leave me comments on my FB page. CLICK HERE to do so!  Thanks for taking the time to read this and respond. I appreciate you all!

Some of my Favorite Oldies!

It’s Retiring time!

I promised to showcase some of my FAV projects using the retiring product.

DSC_3360

This beautiful card is CASED (copied and changed) from a card seen on Pinterest by dreamingaboutrubberstamps.com.

The Stamp Sets are Flower Patch & Helping Me Grow. I used Melon Mambo and the NEW in-color Fresh Fig for the flower, and Wild Wasabi for the leaves.

This is called the Ghosting Technique, I think of it like a shadow effect.  First stamp in Craft Whisper White and let it dry before you stamp the Melon Mambo.  Last, use the enamel dots in the center of each flower. It’s fun!

 Circus Tent- both colors

Circus Tent- Berry:Lemon

Circus Tent- Pacific Point

Made by helenedenbreejen.nl in the Pacific Point and Real Red.

I had to make a girl version with the NEW in-colors, Berry Burst & Lemon-Lime Twist. I used Early Espresso for the Birthday greeting.

Stamp Sets: Carousel Birthday & Tin of Tags (retired)- stars.

You will want the Stitched Shapes Dies with the BIG SHOT and the Triple Banner Punch that makes the arrow tags.

Randomly stamp the stars (one by one) in the background, this part is fun! I used a Dimensional behind the Circus Tent circle. Done!

Love You- Navy

Love you- Wisteria

CASED from a card made by Brandi Barnard’s husband! I love the layout.

I used the new Delightful Daisy & Wood Textures paper seen in the NEW catalog (can be ordered on June 1st, so soon!).

I cut the card at 4-1/4″ (vertically cut 1 paper to make 2). Scored at 5-1/5″ and cut off 2″ from the 11″ (cut at 9″ mark).

Daffodil Delight CS (card stock) is cut at 2-3/4″ by 3-3/4″. White CS is cut at 2-1/2 by 3-1/2.

Colors used: Night of Navy or Wisteria Wonder, plus Daffodil Delight on both.

Punch out the YOU heart with the Sweetheart Punch.

DSC_3369

DSC_3384

My design using Over the Rainbow and current Beautiful You Stamp Sets.

I embossed the background using the Lucky Stars Emboss Folder & the Big Shot.

I picked Soft Sky or Sahara Sand for the card base.

Ink colors: Daffodil Delight (stamp twice), Soft Sky (stamped off), Flirty Flamingo & Staz-on Black ink.

To stamp the Vellum, use Staz-on. Beware of sliding while stamping, also make sure it has time to dry!

I simply stapled the vellum on, no need for adhesive.

Botanical- FAV

This one has got to be my favorite! Both to make and look at!

CASED from Stempelwiese (past Artisan).

Card Base is Crumb Cake, the flower is Melon Mambo, and Wild Wasabi for the leaf.

Stamp Set: Timeless Texture (stamped off with Crumb Cake) & Labeler Alphabet.

You will need the Botanical Builder Dies (currently on SALE)! & the Big Shot.

The gold splatters are done with Gold Wink of Stella (retiring).

To stamp the saying of your choice, simply stamp one letter at a time to get this look.
